Climate Change Adaption
The climate in Norway is changing. Society and businesses must deal with a new reality in which climate change causes more frequent extreme weather and natural disasters. The business community in Norway must address this already today.
Climate change adaptation is about acknowledging that the climate is changing, and about understanding the consequences and implementing measures. Either to prevent damage, or to take advantage of opportunities the changes may entail.
The initiators behind this project are concerned that surprisingly few companies and organizations have the necessary competence and capacity to work in a structured and planned manner with climate change adaptation. The result is that the authorities miss out on an important partner in this work. At the same time, companies' risk is increasing, and Norwegian businesses are in danger of missing out on the potential competitive advantages that lies in creating climate resilient companies.
To start the work of remedying this situation, Fremtind, KBN and Skift have taken the initiative to prepare a list of eight immediate measures that companies can implement to get started with climate change adaptation.
